Coach Marissa

Q: How long have you coached at ASI?

A: I have coached at ASI for five years.

Q: What do you do to stay fit?

A:  I work out at 24 hour fitness occasionally and I practice gymnastics and yoga at home.

Q: What makes gymnastics so great for kids?

A: Gymnastics teaches you how to work through fear and doubt better than anything I’ve experienced.

Overcoming a skill or connection you’ve worked countless hours on and

being able to perform and show it off is just the best feeling of self pride and accomplishment.

Q: What do you love most about coaching at ASI? Why?

A: I really love the ability to coach so many different levels of gymnastics per week.

Going from coaching the basics to kidz gym and then jumping to the level 3 team gymnasts

keeps me thinking and coming up new ways to learn and figure out skills.

Q: What is your personal athletic background?

A: I was a competitive gymnast from 12 to 18 years old. I competed up to level 8 on bars and level 7 on beam.

I was very lucky to compete through my school system so I got a little late of a start but it was the best!

Q: Describe your coaching style .

A: Technical, Expressive, Progressive.

Q: What is your favorite event to coach?

A: Bars!

Q: What is your favorite book?

A: The Giver.

Q: Who is your favorite Super hero?

A:  Aly Raisman.
