back

How do I know what level my child is?

Almost all children will begin at level 1 for preschool classes or bronze for recreational class if they are new to gymnastics. However, our mission at ASI is to provide the best gymnastics to every child at their level. If your child has had previous gymnastics or tumbling experience you may schedule a free level placement.

back

What is a level placement?

Level placement is used for students who are new to ASI and who also have previous gymnastics experience. An evaluator will spend time with the child out in the gym to determine the child’s skill level and what class will be best suited for them. Level placements are free of charge and typically last 10 minutes.

back

What happens after my child’s level placement?

After the level placement, the evaluator will meet with you to discuss which class is best suited for your child. Then, one of our sales staff will help you enroll in a class time that works well with your schedule.

back

How do I know when my child is ready to promote to the next level?

When your coach feels that your child is ready to promote, the coach will notify an evaluator to do a Progress Check. The evaluator will do a Progress Check during your child’s regular class. The evaluator will give the coach feedback on your child’s progress and your child’s coach will tell you how your child is progressing. If your child is ready to promote to the next level, your coach will walk you to the front desk where a sales representative will help you find a new class. If your child needs more progress in their current level, the coach will have that information and be able to help your child.

back

What does my child wear to class?

Boys and Girls may wear a tucked-in t-shirt and shorts or casual pants. Girls may also wear a leotard if preferred. Hair should be pulled neatly and securely away from the face so that it stays up for the entire workout. Girls should not wear bows or other large hair ornaments that may cause discomfort during activity. All students should be barefoot while in class. No chewing gum or jewelry are allowed. Personal items should be left in a cubby. ASI Gymnastics will not be responsible for any items that may be lost or stolen. Be sure your child’s personal items are marked with their name.
